Hey, great job on the restoration. However, it should be noted that this vehicle is not a variant of the M3 Grant tank.

It is actually an M4A1(76)W HVSS. An upgraded M4A1 Sherman with widetrack Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension (HVSS) and fitted with the 76 mm M1 gun..

I used to clamber about it in 60's and 70's in Washington, IN and became forever enamored by the M4 series as a result.

One again, thank you for rescuing and restoring this AFV. I would love to clamber about it again someday.


Actually, without the suspension it would be an M4A1E8. So maybe just a typo. But I'm pretty positive that is an HVSS suspension.
