Indiana Military Museum

Preservation and Interpretation of our Military History

I have found as I progress on this volunteer assignment that I am humbly awed by the honor of presenting the names of men and women that have profoundly contributed to the history of the world, the security of this country and the preservation of western civilization ,sometimes at great risk and almost always at cost.  The gift of time that these people gave to the preservation of Our Way included for some the greatest gift that they could give which was their lives.

It is with reverence for these people that I maintain this web site for the Indiana Military Museum.  It is a reverence for not just the soldiers, sailors, marines or airmen but for those who also remained behind to create and build the machines as well as the mothers, fathers and wives who waited; and some still wait, stoically and patiently for the return of their loved ones.

This website and the Indiana Military Museum are not created to glorify war but to stand in testimony of what went before so that the possibility of peace and freedom through strength in the future can be achieved by understanding the success and failures of mankind.  As you study the people and the machines you will discover that not all the stories will ever be told and  no one who created the strategies or the machines , regardless of its speed and power, has had all the answers.

I beg each of you who come to this site to sign the guest book and give us feed back or a story about your service or your dads service or how your grandmother coped with waiting at home for her children to return  to help preserve the history of these great events. Leave your email so we can contact you if needed.

I also encourage each of you to figure out some way even if its a small effort to help us in our mission.  A donation of an artifact, volunteer your time, become a member, and last but not least the gift of money toward new acquisitions, restorations, or  our new building would be greatly appreciated.
